PRESS RELEASE | 5th December 2005

1Life Becomes Charmed Life

Last week saw 1Life 2005's most dramatic week yet as the team's preparations and hard work finally reached their climax at the start of the Transatlantic Row 2005. Andrew Morris and Stéphane Portès started the delayed race on Wednesday 2nd December and made a great effort to take an early second place on day one showing early promise for what would be the pair's toughest challenge to date.

However, little more than 24 hours after they began disaster struck as Andrew fell during rough seas and was knocked unconscious by part of the boat. He suffered several blackouts after the initial blow and the decision was taken that, due to medical concerns, 1Life 2005 would have to make an early retirement from this year's race.
